This weeks awesome bands:- John Nichols - Digital You. The Payola Reserve - Imaginary Side. Brian Buta - Becoming a Ghost. Lola Ray - What it Feels Like. Niki Barr - If. Grubspoon - Caffeine. Lucky Day - Rainy Days. Comments[2] |
Wed, 29 March 2006 Contrary to the shite that I spout in this weeks podcast, this from boxcar collision.....
Wednesday, March 29, 2006 no show = lame Well, apparently the Mojo Room had their liquor license pulled, so they cancelled all their shows this week. Totally lame. We were psyched to be playing our first bawlmer show. Dangit. Anyway, we're going to hunker down now and get our CD finished, so we don't have any other gigs lined up right now. We're going to do a 5 or 6 song EP, and we've got it about 75% done. Figure another month of tracking, a couple of weeks to master, then it goes to press. Woo hoo. Anyway the musics good - so i never changed the show.... This weeks awesome baltimoron bands:- The Heavycoats - You Don't Feel Desire. Boxcar Collision - Start me up Again. Faster Faster Harder Harder - The Body. Lisa Cerbone - Watching You Drown. Rotoscope - Song 30. Comments[0] |
Tue, 21 March 2006 This weeks bands:- The Old Line Skiffle Combo - I'm Satisfied. David Daniel - Heavy Metal. The Garnet Hearts - To Fall Again. Gerty - Have You Heard About Linda? Idle Ride - Waiting For The Light to Change. The Payola Reserve - Seasick on Shore. Comments[0] |
Tue, 14 March 2006 A MUST LISTEN!!! I was putting together this weeks podcast and listened to a track by the perfects, I don't know if I'm allowed to podcast it so check out the above link to their myspace account - the Duran Duran cover is absolutely ace! Anyway, to this weeks telecast. I've decided that it's not the be all and end all if I can't ALWAYS play a new band each week, and seen as there are only so many bands in the area, I'm going to concentrate on whatever I feel like, and whatever bands are playing in the area. So there you have it. So, this week we have:- Echograph - Need. Faster Faster Harder Harder - Red Teeth. Lejeune - In Stereo. The Stock Market Crash - Tokyo. Fools & Horses - Somebody Waits. Also, Aaron Solan - The Future. Comments[1] |
Thu, 9 March 2006 Finally back doing stuff! Following the sad announcement from Matt Rocks regarding the loss of Brett Wilke, please visit Brettwilke.com to view / submit any memories. I thought it fitting to also start the show with Calling all Cars. I'm working on learning how to use the new equipment, so hopefully sound quality will improve soon enough. So, this week we have:- Calling All Cars - Trick Candle. The Heavycoats - Sea Song. Telecast - Mannequin in Love. e.joseph - Low Flying Aircraft. Comments[0] |
Wed, 8 March 2006 Sorry for the delay - although I've been out for 5 days, it's been mostly sleeping, so this is me just getting used to starting to do some podcasting again, T18 WILL be up soon, real soon.

Wed, 8 March 2006 Below is a message from a girl I met whilst I was in hospital, both her and her family had a huge effect on me whilst I was in. She was airlifted back home to Indiana last Friday, if anyone wants to make any donations or offer any help of any kind I'm sure it will be much appreciated.............
hello friends and family. please pass this on to everyone. (slight correction...baltimore, not boston). thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support, love, and prayers through this difficult time. we truly appreciate it! you have all been touched by laurie's vibrant personality and strong will. thank you so much for everything! much love, amanda Forwarded Message:- "Hi everyone.....I am in need of some great help from you and your friends....so please pass this message on. A few of us are organizing a benefit for Laurie Marlatt. At this time it is set up for Saturday, March 18th....not a lot of time to prepare but from all of us and all of our friends we can pull this off. Laurie met the million dollar mark on her insurance so it will no longer pay. They will be burdening the expense of the air flight back from Boston as well as her IU hospitalization, the ambulance ride home and hospice care. This benefit will help them to offset those charges. We are going to do a dance, bake sale and auction combo. I am in need of bake sale items as well as if anyone would like to donate gift certificates, new items as well as craft items to be auctioned off. The auction may just be a silent auction...not sure yet because I am in the planning stages. The admission to the dance will just be a free will donation. Please let me know what you or anyone else can do to help. I can be reached at at gkuhn96@verizon.net or my phone numbers are 932-4805 or 561-0827. I am currently on maternity leave so I am available one way or another. Thank you for all of your help in advance. I know Laurie and her family appreciates all that we do to help her. Wed, 8 March 2006 Dear Friends,
We are very sad to announce the loss of our guitarist and friend, Brett Wilke.
For those who knew him through his appearances in the local music
scene or simply by face, know that this warm and friendly soul could
light up a room just as quickly as his music lit up the stage. His
passion for music ran deep, and his impact on us will be everlasting.
The overwhelming show of support from everyone in the community has
been extremely heartfelt during this difficult time.
A tribute to Brett's life and love of music is being planned for April
1, 2006 at the Waterfront Hotel in Fells Point from 6-9pm.
For more information about the event and to view and share thoughts,

Fri, 24 February 2006 Friday!!! = Day 4 for me. Counts are at an all time low, which was the plan and as of tomorrow i'll be getting "60 million dollar man"-like hormone injections to boost the old stem cells into something like production. Stem cells? - Controversial? My arse! Anyway, as soon as things are on the up, I'll be producing th epodcast as per usual, well actually as per a bit better than usual. I'll finally be able to get in touch with the bands that have got in touch with me and actually get to see them, maybe do some stuff in studios and record some live stuff for the podcast. I'm pretty much itching to get going! Also, in the spring we'll be hoping to get our weight behind a night at the sidebar dedicated to some quality rockabilly / skiffle / general fifties type music. This is us testing the water as we're going to try and record this and podcast some of it at a later date. If this all goes well, technically, we'll certainly be doing more live stuff, hopefully with some of the artists previously featured on the telecast. That's pretty much it - I don't write in this much, see above for reasons. I may write again though if I get bored again before I get outta here! Tue, 21 February 2006 Here we go then, I finally managed to get this up. As is the norm for the moment - it's all songs only until I get paroled.
This week:- The bonapartes - Concentric Lucky Day - Time will only know The Seldon Plan - Making Circles. Comments[0] |
Tue, 21 February 2006 hey...hopefully I'll be able to get this weeks music up there tonight, it'll probably be later on tonight though. Hold your breath. Category: general -- posted at: 1:31 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 14 February 2006 Due to my incarceration. This weeks show is all music. A mere 3 tracks long, so once you've listened to the music you can get on with your' life - or listen again! iPod duly retreived. This weeks show starts with the opening track from Fools & Horses "Pop Filter" - Would you Know, then we have David Matucci's "Warning Shot" followed by Soldier's Gun from Idle Ride. Apologies for the lack of decent links on here today, abd for the fact that the show is entirely music, although that may well be a good thing as well. It'll be music most of the way from now on until I make it home safe and sound. At which point I'll be starting to use the new equipment and improving on the podcast week by week. Cheers Michael Comments[0] |
Tue, 7 February 2006 It's a long one. Because of my freedom ( please read in poor quality Mel Gibson style Scottish accent ) I decided to put a bit more of an effort in this week.....more notes to follow but at the moment lets get the show up here... this week:- The Metrosexuals - Complex. Rotoscope - Watershed. Sharif - Just another. The Shemps - That's Great. The Seldon Plan - Westchester. And of course....Echograph - Break Me Down. Comments[1] |
Tue, 31 January 2006 I was all ready. I had everything set up, the lazy way of course, I had 13, 14 and 15 all ready, with no words just music. The plan was to keep things ticking over while I was in hospital, but hey presto, the doormen bounced me outta there on Sunday night, said I need to sit some more tests before they let me in. Hope it's not general knowledge tests! Anyway, so, I've thrown this together for you guys this week, every band from right here in beautiful Maryland. Enjoy. Email me below. Cheers. So, this week we have:- The Oranges Band - OK Apartment. Lisa Cerbone - Swallow Stones. The Payola Reserve -An Eastern Western. Comments[0] |
Tue, 24 January 2006 I never even realized it before I started putting the podcast together, but it's a big gig week for three out of the four featured bands here in Baltimore. On Friday January 27th The Stock Market Crash are playing with Laughter and Four-Fifty-One at Fletchers Bar while The Pale Stars play The Waterfront Hotel. Both are in Fells Point so it"s actually feasible to be able to make it to both shows, honest! David Daniel is also playing this Saturday, 28th January, again in Fells Point down at Red Star Bar. No excuses there then, that's 3 good gigs recommended for you guys this weekend. So, obviously, this week we have:- David Daniel - Exit Lights. The Stock Market Crash - Beggars. The Blips - Here Comes the Rain. Comments[0] |

See the message below from Sam of Lejeune and eiher email me or email Lejeune. "Hello, Michael and fellow artists from telecast No. 11. Sam Bishop from DC's Lejeune here. First off, thank you, Michael, for featuring us again in your podcast series---you always group us with fine company. Secondly, Lejeune is currently in the throes of putting together a mini-tour of the mid-Atlantic (with The April Skies from Hershey, PA) that would put through Baltimore on Thursday, 3/9. Might any of y'all have recommendations for a good point-of-entry club for a couple of pop/rock bands? Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Cheers! Sam/Lejeune www.LejeuneMusic.com" Category: general -- posted at: 9:25 AM Comments[0] |

Tue, 10 January 2006 This is great! - well it's one of those things that makes you happy when you were not expecting it if you know what I mean? There's high speed internet on the ward here at hopkins. That = ace man!
I've never been much of a blogger really to be honest, but it's late - i'm pumped full of drugs and wide awake - so what the hell eh? Now, what do I even have to say? I'm glad that i managed to get T10 out on the website yesterday before I left the house as I want to try and keep things as consistent as possible. You guys have been sending me some good stuff lately, keep that coming and if you're in a band, send your stuff in. If you know people in a band, hassle them to email me, If the music's good - I'll definitely play it! Things will change after my transplant in that, believe it or not, I'll have far more time in the house so I'll be hoping to increase the podcast length and will be investing in some decent equipment as well. You only live once eh? One of the major things I had to decide when I was diagnosed was whether or not to return to Scotland for treatment. To be honest there was some doubt in my mind as to whether I would have even been diagniosed as soon as i was had I been living in Scotland. I would have gotten the same treatment there, up to a point, I would not be going throught the transplant process should I have been there, that's for sure. - I think that in the long run, I made the best decision to stay here, you can't really argue with the quality of hospital here at hopkins - everyone I have came into contact with has been fantastic. I am well-insured though, it's just a shame that it may well be one rule for the goose and one or the gander... Category: general -- posted at: 11:56 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 9 January 2006 Short show today. All music.
This week... Hitchhiker -Groove With You. The Stock Market Crash -Bringing Knives to a Gunfight. Sharif - Simple Ways. Comments[0] |
Sat, 7 January 2006 I thought I'd stick a bit of an update on here. Lately things have been a wee bit unconventional and erratic in terms of my organisation of the podcast. The good news is that the next couple of Mondays should be OK, but after that I'll be putting them on as and when I get the chance. I'll be undergoing my last RICE chemo this week, and then it's an Auto PBSC transplant - this means a hosptal stay, which means that the podcast will have to be taking a back seat for a wee while (not that it's really ever been in the front seat anyway). Keep sending me music though as the iPod will be coming in with me and I'll be itching to give all the new stuff I've got a thorough listen. Category: general -- posted at: 5:10 PM Comments[0] |
Tue, 3 January 2006 THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TELECASTED! Just as soon as I get around to feeling like it.
A fantastic start to the new year, with me starting as I mean to go on. Yes, fumbling and mumbling my way through another show because of a severe lack of preparation. I suppose that's what happens at Christmas and New Year though.
The important thing is that I've managed to get 4 quality tracks out there again though, with 3 of the 4 bands from here in charm city and one from just a wee bit up the road in NY. It's a good, fast show this week so enjoy it before it's all over! This weeks bands:- The Shemps -Gimme Everything. The Fall Line - Last call for regret. Faster Faster Harder Harder -Smith vs Savage (remix). Radiation Puppy - A cry for help. Comments[0] |
Thu, 29 December 2005 Life's been a bit mental for me since, well, probably about the 14th, so i've been letting things slip in terms of organisation of the podcasts. Anyhooo, things are looking up in terms of the amount of time i now have on my hands in front of the pc putting things together, so hopefully my quaint scottish tones will be making themselves heard sooner rather than later.
Keep emailing me if you have any band suggestions, or just suggestions. Other than that have a great hogmanay and new year - thanks for listening / reading!
cheers! Category: general -- posted at: 10:50 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 26 December 2005 We made it to Christmas / Hanukah / whatever the hell it means to ya!. Time off work!! Right, Music only this week, 'cos it's that time of year and I didn't feel much like talking. Keep the emails coming. Rotoscope - Drive. Bullette - Don't Start Believin. Boxcar Collision - Boxful. Mon, 19 December 2005 We wanted to keep it consistent, and get the music out there on a regular basis, so we’ve switched the release day to a Monday from now on. As I said in my last post, my doctors have been onto Emeril at the Food Network, and he’s decided they’ve to kick it up a notch in order to lynch the lymphoma currently hanging out in my chest. So this week we’ve got the following:- Delphinium Blue - Boy 17. The Torrents - Wrong as this may be. Faster Faster Harder Harder - The Body. Two if By Sea - Report from damage control. Comments[0] |
Sat, 17 December 2005 Due to a regime change in my chemo. sessions which basically means me spending some time as an in-patient in hospital, we will also be changing the day the podcasts are released. From now on I'll be putting out the telecasts on a Monday, this allows me spend Tue - Fri having a blast and then I can check out what you guys all thought of it on the Friday. Lookout for it this coming Monday! Category: podcasts -- posted at: 4:07 PM Comments[0] |
Thu, 15 December 2005 This week:- The Payola Reserve - Music is not Music. These guys are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album “One Long Apology“, due out at the start of next year. Previously we’ve played “Anything but Ghosts, which coupled with this track proves last years “Lay in Wait EP was no fluke. Outstanding music. Telecast - I’m no Calculator. A few people had told me that when they Googled “telecast, this is what came up – Although from LA, the band were up for it, so were we. Melissa Cox - Elijah Elijah. Thanks to the podsafe music network, we managed to find this beautiful voice. David Daniel - Take me Down & Into You. David Daniel has been involved in Baltimore’s music scene for a lot longer than I’ve even been here. Quality songwriting. Comments[0] |
Thu, 8 December 2005 Thanks for downloading, get subscribed though!, you know you want it!!
This weeks artists:- Running with Scissors - Interviews. Lejeune - Replaced by Robots. Fools & horses - Alright. – Thanks to Kent from F & H for getting in touch and sending a press pack / CD, hopefully more to come from F & H on the telecast soon. Both the Mazeltov Cocktails and Calling all Cars are playing at the Taking Head this Saturday (12th Dec), get along and show your support, it should be a great show. The Mazeltov Cocktails - My Arsonist. Matt Rocks - Bringin’ home the Christmas. Comments[0] |
Sun, 4 December 2005 Alright. I’ve never really been that into this blogging thing really, to be honest I’ve never really seen the attraction in it, but since starting this I feel I really should be giving some sort of update on reaction / progress since we started. What’s the point & why bother? Well originally the plan for Tiny Elephant, about 2 years ago, was to find bands and release records with the first project being a compilation CD featuring 10 bands from Baltimore. Not exactly the most original idea eh? Anyway, in order to do this we figured we would obviously have to attract bands, and what did we have to offer? Well – not much really - 2 guys with an idea of starting up a label, no money and no reputation. Baltimore already has many bands doing their own thing, releasing records and selling merchandise, any band worth their salt are doing this. We figured we’d wait for something to jump out at us. Inspiration came in a weird way, I was listening to NPR and they had a section on podcasting – the guy they featured was a guy called Mark at the Tartanpodcast, he was podcasting unsigned and independent bands out of Scotland, and doing it very well. To be honest though, at that point I was just enjoying the music on the tartanpodcast, I am a bit slow though. Tiny Elephant were concentrating on one band at this point, hoping to put out an EP for a local band. It was summer, we were being lazy. After a few months of listening to a few podcasts, and the implosion of the band we were focusing on we figured finding something new was the best option. So why podcast? – In short everybody gets something for nothing really, bands would get exposure, if people listened, we would get to find new bands, new music, quality music - and of course everybody would get to have a bit of fun. So, to the real point, what’s been happening since we started? Well the response we’ve had from all the bands we’ve played has been fantastic, everyone seems to be glad to be getting involved and spreading word about the telecast. We’re going to be continuing pretty much as we have been, putting out quality local music, and also some from out of state – but the more we get from Baltimore the more we’ll play. Once we get technically better, we’d love to do some in-studio work with a few bands and do some session shows. Indeed we’ve already had some interest from a few bands interested in getting us down to their rehearsal space to record – we will be following this up and if you’ve any ideas, we’re always open. It’s also the plan to record some live shows and maybe some backstage stuff with artists also, again dependent on us ironing out some technical stuff. As well as that, we’ll hopefully be able to work on some band nights in Baltimore – after all, the whole idea is to enjoy the music. Eventually we may put out some records, but at the moment I think we’ll be sticking to the podcast. Cheers, Michael. Category: general -- posted at: 11:21 AM Comments[0] |
